Mrs. Jill Boehnke launched the art program at FLCS last year, and continues to develop the program. She graduated from Montana State University in 2003 with her BFA and BAE. She spent eight years teaching art at an inner city school in Chicago. While in Chicago, she earned her Master of Education degree in middle school science. After taking a few years off to care for her young children, Oliver and Mercedes, Mrs. Boehnke is back in the classroom. Throughout the school year, students will explore ways in which art can enhance their learning and their lives. They will study the artwork of a variety of artists while developing skillsets useful for the manipulation of the physical world. Through art education, Mrs. Boehnke hopes to ignite children with excitement for learning that will persist throughout their lives.

Susie Floyd is the bookkeeper for First Lutheran Church and Classical School. She moved back to Missoula to be with her family. Having been in South Carolina for 23 years, she became aware that her "heart" was still in Montana. She grew up here, went to high school here (Go, Spartans!), and studied at the University of Montana. Being skilled in bookkeeping, Susie enjoys learning how each board's ministry works in action. She is THANKFUL to God for waking her up and bringing her home.
