Throughout the school year, students will explore ways in which art can enhance their learning and their lives. They will study the artwork of a variety of artists while developing skillsets useful for the manipulation of the physical world. Through art education, Mrs. Boehnke hopes to ignite children with excitement for learning that will persist throughout their lives.
FLCS’s art teacher, Mrs. Boehnke, graduated from Montana State University in 2003 with her BFA and BAE. She spent eight years teaching art at an inner city school in Chicago. While in Chicago, she earned her Master of Education degree in middle school science. She has been developing FLCS’s art program for the last three years.
